Snapshot

A snapshot is the moment a campaign freezes its points ledger and calculates final rewards. Everything earned before the snapshot counts; activity after it does not. Snapshot-based payout is the standard settlement model for points-driven campaigns.

Freezing the ledger is what makes the arithmetic possible. A point’s value depends on the reward pool divided by total points earned, and that denominator only stops moving once the campaign stops counting.

The timing carries real consequences for participants. Effort spent after the snapshot earns nothing in that campaign, and a burst of late activity from other participants dilutes everyone who came earlier. Campaigns that announce the snapshot date upfront let participants judge when effort still pays.

Snapshots are announced in advance precisely because they are absolute. A participant who misses one by an hour earns nothing from that campaign, regardless of how much activity followed.
