Value-per-point

This term is specific to Buzz by ChainGPT and is defined per our product documentation.

Value-per-point is the reward value of a single point within a bucket, calculated at snapshot by dividing the bucket’s share of the reward pool by the total points earned in that bucket. It is the mechanism that makes bucket payouts proportional and auditable.

Two properties follow from the formula. Value is unknown until the campaign closes, because the denominator keeps moving while participants keep earning. And it is computed per bucket, so the same point total is worth different amounts depending on which lane produced it.

Auditability is the other half. Because both inputs are published at settlement, a participant can check the arithmetic behind their payout rather than trusting a figure that arrives without workings.

The practical consequence is that no participant can price their points mid-campaign. An estimate made while a campaign is running assumes a denominator that has not stopped moving.
