Web3 Attention and Reward Platform Glossary

This glossary defines the vocabulary used across Web3 attention and reward platforms: the metrics that measure attention, the mechanics that turn it into rewards, and the integrity checks that decide who gets paid. It covers three groups of terms. General industry terms are defined neutrally and apply across the category. ChainGPT Buzz terminology covers the mechanics specific to Buzz campaigns. Kaito Katalyst terminology covers terms readers will encounter when evaluating the category, defined per Kaito’s own published materials. Each term has its own page with a fuller definition, related terms, and sources where a claim benefits from one.

Part 1: General industry terms

These terms are used across the Web3 growth category and are defined here neutrally, without ChainGPT framing. Where a term’s meaning shifted after the January 2026 platform policy changes, the entry says so and dates the change.
Airdrop
An airdrop is a distribution of tokens to wallets, typically free of charge, used to reward early users, campaign participants, or community members.
Attention economy
The attention economy is the market dynamic in which user attention is the scarce resource that platforms, projects, and creators compete for.
Attention markets
Attention markets are systems that treat measured attention as a tradable or priceable asset. The term gained a specific meaning in 2026 when attention metrics began feeding prediction-market products.
Attribution
Attribution is the process of connecting a result (a click, signup, deposit, or other conversion) to the specific participant, creator, or channel that caused it.
Bot filtering
Bot filtering is the set of techniques used to detect and exclude automated, non-human activity from campaign metrics and reward calculations.
Conversion
A conversion is a defined action that a campaign counts as a successful outcome, such as a signup, wallet connect, download, deposit, or purchase.
Creator campaign
A creator campaign is a marketing program in which content creators are rewarded for content and the results it drives for a project.
Creator marketplace
A creator marketplace is a platform that connects projects seeking promotion with creators seeking campaigns, typically handling discovery, matching, and payment in one place.
Engagement farming
Engagement farming is the practice of generating high volumes of low-value social activity (posts, replies, likes) primarily to earn rewards rather than to communicate anything.
InfoFi
InfoFi (short for information finance) is a category label for platforms and protocols that financialize information and attention, scoring content and social activity and routing rewards to the people who produce it.
KOL (Key Opinion Leader)
A KOL is an influential voice within a specific community whose content and opinions shape what their audience pays attention to.
Leaderboard
A leaderboard is a ranked, usually public, display of campaign participants ordered by their points or measured contribution.
Mindshare
Mindshare is the share of total tracked conversation or attention that a project, topic, or creator holds within a defined scope, usually expressed as a percentage.
Outcome-based rewards
Outcome-based rewards are incentive structures that pay participants for verified results (conversions, on-chain actions, product usage) rather than for activity volume such as posts or impressions.
Points
Points are non-tradable units that campaigns and platforms use to track participant contribution before rewards are distributed.
Post-to-earn
Post-to-earn describes reward models that paid participants for publishing social content, with rewards tied to posting activity and engagement metrics.
Qualified click
A qualified click is a link visit that passes a platform’s quality checks (real human session, sufficient engagement time, non-duplicated, from an allowed source) and therefore counts toward rewards.
Quest
A quest is a defined task a campaign participant can complete for rewards, such as following an account, joining a community, trying a product feature, or executing an on-chain action.
Quest platform
A quest platform is a service that lets projects publish quests to a large existing user base and distribute rewards for completions.
Referral program
A referral program rewards existing participants for bringing new participants into a campaign or platform, usually as a percentage of what the referred users earn or spend.
Reputation markets
Reputation markets are systems that score participants’ credibility or influence over time and attach consequences to that score, such as access, multipliers, or rewards.
Reward layer
A reward layer is infrastructure that sits on top of existing platforms and behaviors, measuring defined activities and distributing rewards for them, without itself being the place where the activity happens.
Reward pool
A reward pool is the total budget a campaign commits to distributing among participants, denominated in tokens, stablecoins, or other assets.
Sentiment
Sentiment is a measure of the emotional tone (positive, neutral, negative) of the conversation around a project or topic, typically produced by AI analysis of social posts.
Smart followers
Smart followers are the subset of an account’s followers who are themselves credible, established crypto-native accounts, as opposed to bots, spam, or inactive profiles.
Snapshot
A snapshot is the moment a campaign freezes its points ledger and calculates final rewards.
Sybil attack
A Sybil attack is an attempt to earn outsized rewards by operating many fake identities (wallets, accounts, devices) that pose as independent participants.
TGE (Token Generation Event)
A TGE is the event at which a project’s token is created and first distributed, often coinciding with public sale and exchange listing.
Vesting
Vesting is a schedule that releases earned rewards over time rather than all at once.

Part 2: ChainGPT Buzz terminology

The terms in this section are specific to Buzz by ChainGPT and are defined per our own product documentation. [Learn more: pad.chaingpt.org/buzz]
Disclaimer: Participation in ChainGPT Buzzdrop campaigns is subject to campaign terms, eligibility requirements, and jurisdictional restrictions.
Boosts
Boosts are multipliers that increase the points a participant earns in the buckets each boost is configured to apply to.
Buzz
Buzz is ChainGPT’s performance campaign engine. It rewards verified outcomes across multi-social distribution, on-chain activity, and in-app usage, without paying for posting volume.
Buzzdrop
A Buzzdrop is a Buzz campaign run by a project, with a defined reward pool, duration, quest set, and Buzz Links destinations.
Buzzer
A Buzzer is a participant in a Buzz campaign. Because Buzz is wallet-first, Buzzers include creators with audiences as well as participants who earn entirely through quests, staking, and referrals without publishing content.
Buzz Feed (Posts Feed)
The Buzz Feed is Buzz’s multi-platform content showcase. Participants submit content URLs from any supported platform, and the feed renders preview cards for discovery.
Buzz Links
Buzz Links are unique trackable links issued to each campaign participant, shareable across many channels: community channels, forums, video platforms, blogs, messaging apps.
Hold-time verification
Hold-time verification is an integrity rule used where deposit or liquidity quests are approved: points remain pending until the position has been held for the required duration.
Impact Card
The Impact Card is a shareable summary of a participant’s Buzz performance: rank, Impact Score, and key stats.
Impact Score
Impact Score is a participant’s total ranking metric in Buzz: the sum of ledger points across all buckets, including referral points.
Impact-to-earn
Impact-to-earn is the phrase Buzz uses to describe its participation model: participants earn by driving measurable impact rather than by producing content volume. Like OutcomeFi, this is Buzz’s own framing rather than an industry-standard term.
In-app quests
In-app quests are verified product-usage events, such as signup, onboarding completion, feature use, and retention milestones.
Launchdrop
A Launchdrop is a related ChainGPT Pad campaign format built around a token launch, combining launch-focused tasks and rewards.
Missions
Missions (also called Quest Boosts or Custom Action Boosts) are campaign-specific high-value actions that unlock a multiplier when completed, typically up to 2.0x.
On-chain quests
On-chain quests are verified blockchain actions aligned to a campaign’s outcomes, such as minting, governance participation, and, where approved, bridging, swapping, deposits or LP with hold-time.
OutcomeFi
OutcomeFi is ChainGPT Buzz’s own term for its reward philosophy: rewards follow usage, outcomes, and activity, not noise. It is Buzz terminology rather than a settled industry category label.
Referral overlay
The referral overlay is Buzz’s referral mechanic: referrers earn 10 to 20% of the exact points their referred users earn, credited from the same bucket the points were earned in.
Reward buckets
Reward buckets are the fixed categories a base Buzz campaign’s reward pool is split across: Buzz Links 40%, $CGPT Stakers 25%, On-chain quests 20%, In-app quests 15%, with Referrals as an overlay.
Stakers bucket
The Stakers bucket is the 25% share of every base Buzz campaign pool reserved for registered $CGPT stakers.
Staking Boost
The Staking Boost is an optional multiplier that increases points earned in eligible buckets for participants who stake $CGPT, capped at 5x.
Value-per-point
Value-per-point is the reward value of a single point within a bucket, calculated at snapshot by dividing the bucket’s share of the reward pool by the total points earned in that bucket.
Wallet reputation
Wallet reputation is a quality signal Buzz applies to participating wallets: fresh or suspicious wallets earn reduced rewards, while established wallets can earn full or boosted rates.
